|Ontological Question Type=Existence
|Description=Are epistemic elements part of the process of scientific change?
|Formulated Year=2022
|Prehistory=
|History=The question was de-facto formulated in 2018. Several articles published in the 2018 issue of Scientonomy explicitly make use of the term epistemic element and take it for granted that these are part of the process of scientific change.CiteRef::Rawleigh (2018)CiteRef::Barseghyan (2018)CiteRef::Fraser and Sarwar (2018)CiteRef::Sarwar and Fraser (2018) However, the question has been tacitly accepted since the inception of the community, as indicated by the explicit acceptance of many of its subquestions, such as the question of types of epistemic elements, types of theories, etc.
