The following theories are answers to ontological questions, i.e. answers to such questions as "Does theory exist in the scientonomic domain?", "What are the subtypes of theory?" etc. Ontological theories are first order descriptive theories.

There are several subtypes of ontological theories:

  • Existence Theories: theories that state the existence or a non-existence of an entity, relation, process, etc.
  • Subtype Supertypes Theories: theories that state the relationship of generalization/inheritance (i.e. A is a subtype of B.)
  • Association Theories: theories that state the relationships of aggregation, composition, or association between two classes (e.g. A is a part of B).

To create a theory in this category, locate the respective term among the definitional topics, click on it, and scroll down to the ontology section.
