|History=The term has been explicitly in use since 2018; aeveral several articles published in the 2018 issue of Scientonomy explicitly make use of the term epistemic element and take it for granted that these are part of the process of scientific change.CiteRef::Rawleigh (2018)CiteRef::Barseghyan (2018)CiteRef::Fraser and Sarwar (2018)CiteRef::Sarwar and Fraser (2018) However, the term has been tacitly accepted since the inception of the community, as indicated by the acceptance of an ontology of epistemic elements.
|Current View=While an explicitly definition of the term is still to be suggested, epistemic elements are roughly understood as those semantic entities towards which an epistemic agent can take an epistemic stance.
