|Description=The task of scientonomy is to describe and explain how mosaics actually change through time. As such, answering the traditional philosophical question of progress/relativism is not within the scope of scientonomy, i.e. it is not the task of scientonomy to determine whether science progresses towards an increasingly correct description of the world. The question is whether the empirical findings of descriptive scientonomy can by potentially applied to solve the problem of scientific progress/relativism.
