|Description=As an element of a mosaic undergoes modification, it seems that other elements that are dependent on this element can also undergo change. For instance, there appear to be cases where a change in the ''definition'' of a certain concept may have a ripple effect on other accepted theories which use that concept. The question is whether there is such a thing as "ripple effect" and, if so, whether these "ripple" changes exhibit the same patterns as other instances of scientific change?
