Scientonomy Workshop

The main goal of scientonomy workshops is to discuss those contentious open modifications and either reach a common verdict or, at minimum, provide some insight as to how these modifications can be altered to become acceptable. As opposed to the seminar format, the workshop's primary objective is consensus formation. Normally, any suggested modification is evaluated on its respective discussion page of this encyclopedia. In some cases, the community agrees that the modification is to be accepted/not accepted. However, there are cases, when a modification causes disagreement and no consensus emerges regarding its verdict. The purpose of the workshop format is to provide a venue for the scholars with opposing views to work together and reach a consensus regarding those modification which caused disagreement.

Annual scientonomy workshop are organized by the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, University of Toronto.
